Job summary

The City of Dawson Creek invites applications for a Labourer - Public Works in the Operations department. Under supervision, a Labourer performs and assists with a variety of maintenance tasks such as snow shovelling, snow removal, surveying, utility locates, cemetery upkeep, and infrastructure repair and maintenance.

The successful candidate will handle physically demanding work in sometimes undesirable locations and must be able to operate small machinery and power tools as needed.

Under the general supervision of the Public Works Manager, Public Works Supervisor, or designate, a Labourer performs and assists with a variety of operational and maintenance tasks such as snow shovelling, snow removal, surveying, utility locates, cemetery maintenance, and infrastructure (water and sewer, roads and sidewalks) repair and maintenance. The successful candidate will be tasked with physically demanding work which may take place in undesirable locations and must also be able to operate small machinery and power tools.
