Job summary

Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Clinical Services division in Attawapiskat, ON. This permanent full-time role reports to the Director of Patient Care and supports WAHA’s mission to deliver exemplary care in remote northern communities.

The ideal candidate holds a Nursing Diploma (BSN preferred), is registered with the CNO in good standing, and has BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
• Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS are required.
• PALS, AED, NRP, TNCC and IV therapy certifications are assets.
• Added Nursing Skills certification or willingness to obtain within a prescribed period.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to clients.
• Plan, carry out, and evaluate nursing care.
• Cooperate in the administration of preventative, diagnostic, and therapeutic care.
• Exercise judgement in meeting patient needs.

Who You Are

• Experienced registered nurse with 2 years’ experience


• Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, while supporting each member in their roles


• Strong interpersonal communication skills


• Deep knowledge of nursing role and enhanced scope


• Ability to develop strategic partnerships with colleagues in order to enhance patient care services
