Job summary

Atikameksheng Anishnawbek is seeking a Healthy Aging Program Worker to plan, coordinate, and deliver recreational, social, cultural, and wellness programming for participants at the Seniors Day Centre in Naughton, Ontario.

Two full-time positions with a competitive wage of $21.50–$29.75 per hour, 35 hours weekly. Preference for Indigenous applicants; closing date Sept 2, 2026. Join a community-focused team within Health and Community Wellness.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Recreation, Gerontology, Recreation Therapy, Community Support, Social Services, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year experience planning, coordinating, or delivering recreational or wellness programming (seniors preferred).
• Experience supporting seniors living with dementia, disabilities, or chronic conditions in a community setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and deliver recreational, social, educational, and wellness programs for seniors.
• Facilitate activities to promote physical activity, cognitive engagement, social connection, and wellbeing.
• Provide day-to-day support to participants during programs and Centre activities.

POSITION SCOPE:

The Healthy Aging Programmeris responsible forplanning, coordinating, and delivering recreational, social, cultural, and wellness programming for participants attending the Seniors Day Centre. The role supports active and healthy aging by enhancing quality of life, reducing social isolation, and promoting participants’ physical, emotional, and cognitivewell-being.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certificate or Diploma in Recreation, Gerontology, Recreation Therapy, Community Support, Social Services, or a related field.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience planning, coordinating, or delivering recreational, wellness, social, or community‑based programming, preferably with seniors or other priority populations.
• Experience ordemonstratedunderstanding of supporting seniors living with dementia, disabilities, mobility limitations, or chronic health conditions, ideally in a community or group‑based environment.

• Plan, organize, and deliver regular recreational, social, educational, and wellness programs for seniors.
• Facilitate activities that promote physical activity, cognitive engagement, social connection, andoverall,well‑being.
• Provide day‑to‑day support to participants during programs and Centre activities.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment that supports participant dignity and independence.
