Job summary

Atikameksheng Anishnawbek in Naughton, Ontario, is seeking a Wellness Coordinator - Addictions to support mental health and community well-being. The role focuses on removing barriers and promoting healthy lifestyles through education and outreach.

You will work with the Health and Community Wellness department, provide case management, intakes, individual support, and develop group programs. Internal candidates and band members are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or diploma with related experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience providing addictions, mental health, wellness, or community support services.
  • Experience in First Nation organizations, health centres, social service agencies, or community-based programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide case management support to individuals/families.
  • Conduct intakes and assessments and develop care plans for clients.
  • Provide one-on-one support.
  • Develop and facilitate therapeutic support groups.
  • Develop health and wellness programming for the community.

Employment Status: Full-Time

Salary: $31- $42/HR – 35 Hours per Week

Location: Naughton, ON

POSITION SCOPE:

The Wellness Coordinator facilitates topics of mental health and addictions for the community’s education and awareness that allows people in the community to see how to remove barriers and choose a healthy lifestyle.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, Health Sciences, Community Services, or a related field; or
  • Diploma in Social Services, Addictions and Mental Health, Community Services, Health Sciences, or a related discipline combined with relevant experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience providing addictions, mental health, wellness, or community support services.
  • Experience working within a First Nation organizations, health centre, social service agency, or community-based program is preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide assistance to individual(s)/families through the case management model
  • Provide intakes and assessments and develop plans of care for clients
  • Provide one on one support
  • Develop and facilitate therapeutic support groups
  • Develop health and wellness programming for the community
