ATIKAMEKSHENG ANISHNAWBEK invites applications for a Healthy Aging Program Worker to plan, coordinate, and deliver recreational, social, cultural, and wellness activities for seniors at the Seniors Day Centre in Naughton, ON. The role enhances quality of life, reduces isolation, and supports independence.

Two full-time positions with a pay of CAD 21.50–29.75 per hour for a 35‑hour week; benefits include RRSP matching, EFAP, and health coverage.

Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in Recreation, Gerontology, Recreation Therapy, Community Support, Social Services, or a related field.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience planning, coordinating, or delivering recreational, wellness, social, or community‑based programming, preferably with seniors or other priority populations.
  • Experience or demonstrated understanding of supporting seniors living with dementia, disabilities, mobility limitations, or chronic health conditions, ideally in a community or group‑based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and deliver regular recreational, social, educational, and wellness programs for seniors.
  • Facilitate activities that promote physical activity, cognitive engagement, social connection, and overall well‑being.
  • Provide day‑to‑day support to participants during programs and Centre activities.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment that supports participant dignity and independence.

POSITION SCOPE:

The Healthy Aging Programmeris responsible forplanning, coordinating, and delivering recreational, social, cultural, and wellness programming for participants attending the Seniors Day Centre. The role supports active and healthy aging by enhancing quality of life, reducing social isolation, and promoting participants’ physical, emotional, and cognitivewell-being.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certificate or Diploma in Recreation, Gerontology, Recreation Therapy, Community Support, Social Services, or a related field.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience planning, coordinating, or delivering recreational, wellness, social, or community‑based programming, preferably with seniors or other priority populations.
