Job summary

Puratos Mississauga seeks a Production Coordinator for a 14-month contract to oversee production scheduling, budgeting, SOPs, and resource allocation in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

You will monitor KPIs, manage training logs, ensure safety and HACCP compliance, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver on-time quality products. Strong MS Office and ERP skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in a business-related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Industrial Millwright Licence (433A) required.
  • Ability to organize, plan and execute tasks reliably and independently.
  • Strong analytical approach to issue resolution.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP management.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate production including scheduling, budgeting, SOPs and resource allocation.
  • Support Operational Excellence program with KPI data and reporting.
  • Coordinate production training programs and maintain logs.
  • Communicate with departments to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Plan production schedules with cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain schedules and provide daily ops commentary.
  • Prepare and distribute production documents (loading sheets, schedules, reports).
  • Use SAP, PCS7 and MS Office for daily tasks.
  • Liaise with vendors and contractors for materials and services.
  • Monitor budgets and report discrepancies to management.
  • Support production team with administrative duties.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and HACCP standards.
  • Lead DOR meetings and manage bulk ingredient receiving.
  • Back up production supervisor when needed.
  • Maintain OEE/master data and update visibility reports.
  • Manage daily operator time logs in DayForce.
  • Assist with food waste management initiatives.

Production Coordinator – 14 Month Contract

Your Mission

As a Production Coordinator, your mission is to ensure the seamless and efficient operation of our food manufacturing processes. You will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity, contributing to the delivery of exceptional food products to our customers.

What you will do

  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of production, including but not limited to scheduling, budgeting, SOPs, and resource allocation.
  • Support Operational Excellence program, KPI Slides: Data collection and reporting batch yield, variances.
  • Coordinate all production related training programs with the relevant functional team leads and ensure that training logs are updated and maintained.
  • Communicate with various departments to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any production-related issues.
  • Plan production schedule by coordinating with cross functions such as customer service, supply chain Etc…
  • Maintain production schedules and track progress to ensure timely delivery of projects and provide daily commentary to the Ops team.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of production documents, such as Loading sheets, schedules, and reports. Using SAP, PCS7 and MS office.
  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to secure necessary materials and services.
  • Monitor production budgets and expenses and report any discrepancies to management.
  • Support the production team with administrative tasks and other duties as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Monitor the Production Communication board and maintain action log
  • Lead DOR meeting. Accommodating receiving of bulk ingredients.
  • Assist production supervisor and Back up position whenever supervisor on vacation.
  • Maintain OEE/Master Data and update reports for visibility.
  • Manage the daily time logs for operators in DayForce.
  • Help with Food waste Management and improvement projects.

What we expect from you

  • Post secondary education in a Business Administration or a related field
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferably in a food manufacturing environment
  • Industrial Millwright Licence (433A) required
  • Capability to organize, plan and execute tasks reliably and independently
  • Able to think logically around issues & tasks in resolving conflicts
  • Ability to facilitate changes by influencing others through analytical approach
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP Management Extensive practical knowledge in operations, safety & HACCP Standards.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills (verbal/written).
  • Experience in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
  • Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment
  • Capable to organize, plan and execute tasks reliably and independently.
  • Able to think logically around issues & tasks and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to facilitate changes by influencing others through analytical approach.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
