Job summary

Stampede Culinary Partners in Canada is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day production activities, supervise staff, ensure safety, quality and efficiency, and coordinate with maintenance and QA teams.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will monitor attendance, schedule temporary workers, coach staff, and drive continuous improvement while upholding ISO, HACCP and GMP standards. This is a full-time position in a cool environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading teams in manufacturing, preferably food production.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise production employees in safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for equipment repairs and PMs.
  • Track attendance and manage shift transitions with staffing agencies.
  • Coach staff, provide feedback, and administer progressive discipline when needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance equipment performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure ISO, HACCP, GMP compliance and support audits.

We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team in a full-time, permanent capacity.

Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday (Shift times to be discussed)
Position Summary

Reporting to the Production Manager, this role will be primarily responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities of production employees. This role also oversees the operation of machinery and equipment used to produce a variety of food products, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, support, and motivate production employees in all areas, including safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Address employee concerns in a timely manner in collaboration with the Production Manager.
  • Track employee time and attendance through Ceridian Dayforce.
  • Coordinate with staffing agencies to schedule temporary workers, approving timesheets, and assisting with shift transitions.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and support in a constructive and respectful manner; administer progressive discipline when required.
  • Manage manufacturing processes, troubleshoot any production related issues, and ensure efficient operations.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department on preventative maintenance equipment repairs
  • Train employees and ensure all team members are properly trained and signed off on required SOPs.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, product quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor workplace health and safety; communicate policies and actively participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee initiatives.
  • Enforce and ensure compliance with ISO, HACCP, GMP and food safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the Canada Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and ensure adherence to food safety requirements.
  • Ensure all products meet company and customer quality specifications
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Maintain facility standards as required.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 – 5 years' experience working in the manufacturing industry in a leadership role (food industry experience is considered a strong asset).
  • Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement; LEAN manufacturing experience is an asset.
  • Experience promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture in a high-speed food production environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Experience with Ceridian Day is considered an asset.
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to foster teamwork and collaboration.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a cool environment (2-4 degrees)
  • Creative, solutions-orientated mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
