Position Overview
Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director, the Policy Analyst is responsible for providing the senior leadership team with advice and recommendations to implement changes in provincial, federal or First Nation policy. As a dynamic leader, the Policy Analyst will ensure the agency balances compliance with western practice with the emerging changes to practice under ‘An Act Respecting First Nations’. As a key function, the Policy Analyst will review any new laws and recommend strategies to accommodate and operationalize the law to be interoperable with the needs of the integrated agency environment.
Of paramount importance is the safety of children and families and as a leader, the Policy Analyst will make recommendations to implement policies and practice enhancements that will support positive outcomes for children, youth, and families receiving services from Dilico Anishinabek Family Care. Inclusiveness, integration, and cultural safety are key responsibilities to enable a safe and respectful environment for people to access helping services. The role will be integrated with the quality assurance and training programs to ensure best practices are implemented comprehensively across the agency.
The Policy Analyst will be responsible for leading communication processes that ensure seamless enhancement of service that is respectful of our legal obligations and compliant with First Nation direction as we collaboratively transform the service system to better meet the needs of children and families.
