Under the direction of the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Officer will be part of a team responsible for delivering a variety of Human Resource services and tasks including: recruitment, retention, new employee orientation, training, health & safety, benefits administration, payroll, data entry, collective agreement and policies compliance as well as additional administrative functions.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources Management or Business Administration is required
  • Two or more years of experience in human resources and/or business administration
  • Knowledge and understanding of Human Resources principles, practices, and related legislation
  • Knowledge related to occupational health and safety and disability management
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation, practices, and systems
  • Knowledge of the administrative requirements of a student recruitment and placement system
  • Knowledge of database information systems - Human Resources Information Systems
  • Ability to take direction and work as an integral member of a team
  • Excellent planning, organization, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent public relation skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work under the stress of deadlines
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Manager of Human Resources in relation to service requirements
  • Must possess a valid Class “G” Driver’s License and have access to a reliable personal vehicle
  • $1,000,000 liability vehicle insurance
  • Must complete a criminal records check, satisfactory to Dilico
