The Ministry of Community Safety is seeking dedicated individuals for a Permanent Part-Time Correctional Officer opportunity at Prince Albert Correctional Centre. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to safer communities by supporting offender rehabilitation, promoting positive change, and maintaining a safe and secure correctional environment.

Successful candidates will participate in a paid 11-week Induction Training Program. The ministry is looking for accountable, adaptable, and collaborative professionals who demonstrate integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to public service excellence. Candidates must be able to work effectively with diverse populations, build positive working relationships, and support offender rehabilitation while maintaining safety and security standards.

Required knowledge and skills include an understanding of the Canadian criminal justice system, human behaviour, risk assessment, decision-making, and the ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies, and procedures. Candidates must possess a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence (or equivalent), valid First Aid and CPR/AED certification, and education in social sciences, law enforcement, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A satisfactory medical evaluation is required.

Responsibilities include supervising offenders, maintaining facility security, supporting case planning and reintegration activities, facilitating offender programming, assessing risk, responding to incidents, and working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to promote positive outcomes and public safety.
