The Ministry of Community Safety is seeking dedicated individuals for permanent full-time Correctional Officer opportunities at the Regina Correctional Centre. This rewarding career offers the opportunity to contribute to safer communities by supporting offender rehabilitation, encouraging positive change and maintaining the safe and secure operation of a correctional facility. Successful candidates will receive a paid 11-week Induction Training Program and work within a collaborative environment focused on public safety and offender reintegration.

The ideal candidate is accountable, adaptable, inclusive and committed to public service excellence. You will be comfortable working directly with adult offenders from diverse backgrounds, including those affected by trauma, special needs and varying cultural and spiritual beliefs. Strong communication, teamwork, critical thinking and decision-making skills are essential, along with the ability to assess risk, manage challenging situations and build professional relationships.

Candidates must have knowledge of the Canadian criminal justice system and human behaviour. A valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers Licence (or equivalent) and valid First Aid and CPR/AED certification are required prior to training. Relevant qualifications may include a university degree in the social sciences, a law enforcement diploma, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Applicants should demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include supervising offenders, supporting rehabilitation and reintegration plans, facilitating programming, maintaining facility safety and security, assessing risk, applying legislation and responding appropriately to incidents.
