Required Teaching Qualifications

• A valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate
• A valid Certification of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers
• Junior, Intermediate and Senior Qualifications
• Special Education Specialist or (Part 2 with evidence of working toward Specialist)

Position Criteria

• Demonstrate strong evidence of trauma informed practices within an educational setting and working with students with trauma considered an asset.
• Demonstrate evidence of working with a multi-faceted team supporting students in their school readiness skills along with behaviour management and therapeutic programming
• Demonstrate experience with Plans of Care, Behaviour Management Plan and transition plans.
• Proven ability supporting students with high behavioural needs and evidence of mindfulness strategies
• Demonstrate strong evidence of proven ability utilizing differentiated instruction to meet the needs of a variety of learners
• Knowledge of Ministry Curriculum and Assessment Strategies
