Job summary

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is seeking a long term occasional (LTO) teacher. The successful candidate must be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers and hold Intermediate and Senior basic qualifications, plus Special Education and Science qualifications as noted above.

Job description

THE FOLLOWING LONG TERM OCCASIONAL TEACHING POSITION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE:

The current end date of this position is listed on the posting. This date may end earlier and notice will be given to the successful candidate as required in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

Applicants must be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers and have obtained their Intermediate and Senior basic qualifications, as well as Special Education, and Intermediate / Senior Science – General qualifications. When there are two or more required qualifications listed for a position, the applicant must have at least two of the required qualifications in order to be considered qualified for the position.

Applicants who hold the specified qualifications will be given priority in filling the position. In the event there are no applicants internal or external after the second posting that hold all qualifications required for the assignment, applicants with partial qualifications will be considered for the position.

In accordance with the Central Terms of the Collective Agreement related to Hiring Practices, filling of long-term occasional assignments will occur without an in-person interview. The Board will staff long-term assignments from the 3 most senior qualified applicants who are available for the assignment, if there are no supernumerary teachers or teachers declared redundant who are placed into this long-term assignment.
