Acting in a leadership capacity, the Charge Technologist will assist the Manager to ensure efficient utilization within the department. This includes supporting the Niagara Health and the Niagara Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (NRLMP) in the provision of high-quality laboratory services to assist physicians and healthcare providers in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease.
The Charge Technologist provides leadership and supervision within the Biochemistry discipline, ensuring laboratory testing meets all legislated and accreditation requirements. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, supporting staff, and ensuring compliance with laboratory policies and the NRLMP Quality Management System.
The incumbent supports management initiatives, including operational, financial, and quality objectives; prepares and analyzes statistical data and reports; and contributes to continuous quality improvement. The role may include responsibilities in key program areas such as safety, education, and specimen handling, and includes site-specific operational oversight across Niagara Health locations.
