You will implement custom WordPress builds, manage maintenance, and ensure WCAG accessibility and industry compliance while collaborating with a distributed, asynchronous team.

Qualifications

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Web Developer based in Brazil.

We are looking for an experienced, AI-driven Web Developer to build, maintain, and optimize high-performing websites for U.S.-based cannabis brands. In this fully remote role, you will manage end-to-end website development projects while supporting multiple client accounts in a fast-paced digital marketing environment. You will combine strong technical expertise with modern AI tools to streamline development, automate repetitive tasks, and improve delivery speed. From custom WordPress builds to complex integrations and technical SEO, your work will directly contribute to creating accessible, engaging, and compliant digital experiences. You will collaborate with a distributed team in an asynchronous environment, with client communication managed by the account team. This opportunity is ideal for a developer who understands the fundamentals of coding and embraces AI as a powerful tool for smarter, more efficient development.

Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, and launch responsive websites and landing pages using WordPress and Elementor, translating Figma designs into polished, user-friendly experiences.
• Leverage AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor to accelerate development, generate and debug code, automate repetitive workflows, and improve overall productivity.
• Manage ongoing website maintenance and high-volume client requests, including content updates, banners, link corrections, plugin management, and layout adjustments.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple CMS platforms using custom PHP, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant technologies.
• Adapt website designs to different brand identities, ranging from corporate multi-location businesses to independent, lifestyle-oriented dispensaries.
• Integrate cannabis-specific e-commerce platforms, including Blaze and Treez, with online menu providers such as Dutchie, Jane, COVA, and Breadstack.
• Support website migrations, DNS configuration, Cloudflare implementation, and reverse‑proxy setups to ensure reliable website performance.
• Implement technical SEO best practices, including Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), schema markup, redirects, indexing checks, and Core Web Vitals optimization.
• Ensure websites meet WCAG accessibility guidelines and applicable cannabis industry compliance requirements, including age verification and state-specific disclaims.
• Create clear, detailed technical documentation for website builds, configurations, and workflows to support collaboration and seamless knowledge transfer across the team.

Requirements:

• At least 4 years of professional web development experience, including substantial hands‑on coding experience gained before the widespread adoption of modern AI development tools.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent design judgment and the ability to build visually appealing, responsive, and high‑performing websites.
• Proven experience managing multiple websites and competing priorities in a digital marketing agency or another multi‑client environment.
• Previous experience working with U.S.-based clients is required, along with familiarity with agency workflows and client‑driven project demands.
• Advanced proficiency in WordPress and page builders, particularly Elementor, with the ability to customize and troubleshoot websites beyond standard builder functionality.
• Strong command of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, with a solid understanding of underlying code structures and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Hands‑on experience with additional CMS platforms, such as Shopify, PrestaShop, or Drupal. Familiarity with cannabis‑specific platforms, including Blaze and Treez, is a strong advantage.
• Daily, practical use of AI development tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor, supported by concrete examples of improved efficiency in coding, debugging, automation, or website production.
• Knowledge of technical SEO, website performance optimization, and web accessibility standards, including WCAG.
• Strong written English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a fully remote, asynchronous team.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to manage a high volume of tasks without compromising quality.
• Experience in the wellness sector, particularly with cannabis dispensaries, is highly preferred.
