Circle is seeking a VP of Policy and Regulatory Strategy, Latin America, to lead public policy, regulatory strategy, and market positioning across LatAm. You will work with cross-functional teams to unlock growth, reduce regulatory friction, and align standards across target markets.

You will also monitor global policy developments for digital currencies and blockchain-based payments, informing strategy and expansions while leading a diverse global team.

Qualificações

• 14+ years of regulatory and policymaking experience at the nexus of technology and finance.
• 8+ years of leadership and team management experience.
• Strong relationships with government and regulatory bodies at high levels.
• In-depth LatAm policy, regulatory, licensing expectations for payments and crypto.
• Familiarity with generative AI models and prompt development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

The VP, Policy and Regulatory Strategy, Latin America will lead Circle’s public policy, regulatory strategy, and market positioning across the Latin America (LatAm) region. This role will serve as an integral component of the strategy, global policy, and corporate communications leadership team. Working closely with Commercial, Legal, Compliance, Product, Finance and other teams to unlock growth, reduce regulatory friction, and align evolving standards, requiring in-depth understanding and engagement with key regulators and other stakeholders in target markets. The VP will help drive analysis, engagement and regulatory filings culminating in successful company licensure, and operations in certain target markets. The VP will also lead regulatory, policy and other engagements supporting a global market and regulatory environment conducive to the company’s products, solutions, and services.

The VP will also track in an evidence-based manner the global policy, regulatory and market acceptance of digital currencies, blockchain-based payments systems and crypto-assets more generally. This will be a dynamic role that will help inform company-wide market expansion efforts, regulatory engagements and competitive positioning.

What You’ll Work On

• Formulation of regulatory engagement, stakeholder mapping and market segmentation based on overall company market expansion plans.
• Reviewing present and future regulatory requirements in target markets, alongside legal, compliance and operational leaders.
• Market expansion and regulatory efforts around the world, prioritized by markets and partners.
• Creation of regulatory consultation responses, including requests for information, comment and other engagements with external stakeholders.
• Building coalitions with stakeholders to advance the regulatory agenda in support of the development of the internet financial system.
• Collaborating with business and other cross-functional leaders to enable business success.
• Leading a dynamic global strategy, policy and communications team helping drive a conducive market environment for the company’s products, solutions and services.

Core Requirements

What you’ll bring to Circle:

• 14+ years of legal, policy, regulatory and policymaking experience at the nexus of emerging technology, financial services and global markets.
• 8+ years of experience managing and leading teams.
• Technical virtuosity, policy instincts and relationships at the highest levels of government, policymaking and regulatory matters shaping the future of money and payments.
• Proven knowledge at the strategic and technical levels in regulatory engagement in the payments and financial service domains.
• In depth knowledge of LatAm policy, regulatory, legal and licensing requirements for the payments, digital currencies, crypto-assets and blockchain-based market.
• Familiarity with generative AI models (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) and prompt development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience building cross-functional teams across geographic locations and delivering results.
• Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS and GSuite.
