Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Doctor Degree in Medicine and registration with the Regional Medical Council (CRM).
  • Certifications in advanced life support, such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
  • Advanced English CBSP and HUET NR 32 and NR 37
  • Minimum experience of 02 years in Emergency Medicine or Intensive Care

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Desirable offshore experience
Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial diagnoses and treatments, stabilizing patients until they can be transferred to medical facilities on land, if necessary
  • Implement disease prevention and health promotion programs
  • Monitor and control outbreaks of infectious diseases on board
  • Manage the stock of medicines and medical equipment, ensuring that they are always available and in good condition
  • Keep detailed records of all care and procedures performed
  • Train staff on first aid procedures and use of emergency equipment
  • Conduct educational sessions on occupational health and safety
  • Work with safety engineers, occupational safety technicians and other professionals to ensure a safe work environment
  • Participate in occupational health and safety meetings
  • Ensure that all medical activities comply with regulatory standards, such as NR-30 and NR-37
  • Provide ongoing guidance and training to the Nurse on medical and emergency procedures
  • In emergency situations, the Doctor makes critical decisions and guides the Nurse in carrying out the necessary procedures
