About the role

At Memory Ware, we craft games that invite players into deep, meaningful experiences with systems that reward curiosity and stories that linger long after the screen fades. We're looking for a UX Designer excited to shape player experience across combat, exploration, and narrative, especially in games inspired by classic and modern JRPGs.

Responsibilities

• Lead UX thinking across major systems, ensuring core mechanics feel intuitive and player-focused.
• Design flows, wireframes, and prototypes to support key experiences.
• Collaborate with designers to improve mechanics and identify friction points.
• Bridge the design team with other teams to support usability and emotional tone.
• Use tools like Figma, Miro, and Unity to develop prototypes and communicate UX intent.
• Research genre conventions and identify opportunities for innovation.
• Define usability testing plans and translate feedback into iterations.
• Advocate for accessibility, clarity, and joy in game design.

Qualifications

• Experience as a senior or lead UI/UX designer on shipped games or apps.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating visual design, user flows, and UX strategy.
• Experience with Unity and game development.
• Experience designing UX for layered game systems.
• Player-first mindset with focus on emotional clarity, pacing, and flow.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to own initiatives.
• Passion for RPGs, strategy, or adventure games.

Bonus Skills

• Experience with console or controller-first games.
• Motion or interaction design skills.
• Game design literacy and accessibility knowledge.
