Responsibilities include overseeing safety activities to maintain conditions that minimize risks of workplace accidents, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Responsibilities and duties
- Conduct inspections at work sites, identify hazards, and take necessary actions to eliminate risks, including training and raising awareness among employees about safety practices.
- Develop and implement safety training programs, including awareness campaigns and dissemination of safety standards to foster a preventive attitude among employees.
- Ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and inspect fire safety equipment as needed.
- Collaborate on building modifications and new installations to enhance safety conditions.
- Investigate occupational diseases and environmental conditions, taking legal actions to prevent recurrence and address hazardous conditions.
- Organize safety campaigns, lectures, and training sessions to promote safety and hygiene standards and inform workers about hazardous activities.
- Distribute PPE and inspect fire safety equipment to reduce risks.
- Work with the Internal Accident Prevention Commission (CIPA) to implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Analyze accident and occupational disease statistics to identify causes and implement preventive measures.
- Prepare safety training programs, including onboarding and routine safety drills.
- Support the Safety Week (SIPAT) activities and evaluate accident cases for appropriate medical care.
Minimum requirements
- Complete technical training in occupational safety.
- Proficiency in computer skills for checklists, reports, and training materials.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, including assertiveness and active listening.
- Ability to work in team settings and handle conflict situations.
- Experience as a Safety Technician; a Civil Firefighter course is a plus.
- Experience in retail, food industry, or logistics is desirable.
Preferred qualifications
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle (reimbursable per km).
- Availability for occasional travel.
