Nextpower is seeking a Technical Writer to create and manage documentation for solar tracker hardware, firmware, and software, collaborating with engineering, product, field operations, and marketing to ensure content is clear and accurate.

You will advance our knowledge base, implement authoring tools, and ensure localization-ready content for our global customers and teams.

Qualificações

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing.
  • Experience documenting complex electromechanical or industrial hardware systems.
  • Knowledge of CAD drawings, electrical schematics, and field deployment practices.
  • Multilingual documentation or localization experience.
  • PMP or Agile certification is a plus.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written).

Responsabilidades

  • Author and review technical documentation for hardware, firmware, and software components of solar tracker systems.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise content for installers, engineers, operations staff, and customers.
  • Oversee production of illustrations, diagrams, and multimedia to support documentation; manage translations for global distribution.
  • Collaborate with hardware/software engineering, field operations, QA, and training teams to ensure up-to-date information and regulatory compliance.
  • Support CMS and localization processes; drive automation and digital delivery improvements.

Job Description: Technical Writer

The Technical Writer is an individual contributor who creates, manages, and delivers high-quality documentation to support our product offerings, and is responsible for content creation including installation manuals, operation and maintenance guides, training content, internal SOPs, and technical materials. This individual will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, field services, and marketing to ensure technical content is clear, accurate, and aligned with customer and industry needs. Other priorities include continued development of our knowledge base, implementation of new authoring tools and bringing us to the forefront of technology in access, maintenance and sharing of our technical documentation to improve customer experience. The technical writer will support product, engineering and applications teams to develop, produce and provide high-quality documentation for construction, installation, and application guides for both internal and external audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development: Author and review technical documentation for hardware, firmware, and software components of solar tracker systems, along with new product offerings in Nextracker’s portfolio; Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly content for a variety of audiences (installers, engineers, operations staff, and customers). Oversee the production of illustrations, diagrams, and multimedia to support documentation; Enable translation program to support document translations into a multitude of languages for our global customers and teams. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with hardware and software engineering, field operations, QA, and training teams to gather comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date information; Partner with product marketing to create customer-facing materials such as datasheets and solution briefs; Ensure documentation supports regulatory compliance, safety standards, and warranty requirements. Tools & Technology: Support content management systems (CMS) and tools for authoring and publishing; Drive innovation and change to bring technical documentation into a new digital era, to support scalability and efficiency; Implement version control and localization processes for global distribution; Drive automation and digital delivery improvements (e.g., online help systems, mobile-access content, knowledge bases). Quality Assurance & Feedback: Establish and track documentation quality metrics (completeness, readability, accessibility); Collect feedback from end users and stakeholders to continuously improve content usability and accuracy; Drive process and procedures to achieve efficient cadence around documentation refresh, updates, and review boards.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering or related field; 5+ years of experience in technical writing; Proven experience documenting complex electromechanical or industrial hardware systems, along with relationship of hardware to software; Familiarity with solar tracker systems or renewable energy equipment is highly desirable; Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills; Strong command of documentation tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, Confluence, XML/DITA, or equivalent; Experience managing documentation projects with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines; Experience in a fast-paced, growth-stage technology company; Knowledge of CAD drawings, electrical schematics, and field deployment practices; Multilingual documentation or localization experience; PMP or Agile certification is a plus; Fluent English (spoken and written).

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Support on formatting, documenting, and archiving for quality, supply chain, procurement, planning, construction, engineering teams for processing technical information in our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, and processing via Document Change Order (DCO);
  • Creation, and support for installation manuals;
  • Generating technical bulletins;
  • Creation of illustrations for various manuals/bulletins;
  • Product change notification documents;
  • Support of quality documentation;
  • Creation of process flow templates and procedures;
  • Support for product management activities (creation of documents with observations in place);
  • Creation of patent documents;
  • Creation of software user manuals;
  • Creation of tool release notes for various tool releases;
  • Document control for all the arena documents;
  • Technical product marketing collateral support;
  • Tracking tasks, providing updates and coordinating efforts across the team;
  • Reporting on activities and milestones and goals;
  • Incorporate new technologies and tools to improve review process, approval and customer experience.
Skills required:
  • Create milestones and goals that increase efficiency of work performed to support the needs of the company for technical writing, documentation and archiving;
  • Critical thinker: able to sort out complex problems and voice potential solutions;
  • Team player: able to work with a varied team and other departments, get along with others; work independently as well as take direction as the situation calls for it;
  • Bonus if experienced with SolidWorks Composer and other design drafting tools, with ability to follow best practices and good standards;
  • Experienced with documentation writing standards;
  • Highly skilled with Microsoft suite of products, as well as Adobe;
  • Experienced with Product Lifecycle Management systems, plus if experienced with tools such as Arena, NetSuite, Salesforce.
