Wärtsilä Parts and Field Service is now looking for an enthusiastic Team Leader Resources, In-Situ to join our skilled team in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

What will you be doing?

As a Team Leader In-Situ Resources, you will be responsible for leading and developing a In-Situ Resources Team consisting of In-Situ Machining Engineers and Technicians in Brazil, in accordance with the strategy, action plan and business needs.

Effective July 2025, Wärtsilä Brazil will implement a new hybrid work model. Most employees who live within 65 kilometres of an office will work 6 days per month in office. This model will provide our employees the flexibility of working from home, while also providing the benefits of in-person collaboration. We will be happy to provide more information during your interview process.

This position reports to the In-Situ Resources Manager.

Candidates are expected to display a high level of critical thinking and reasoning skills, identify as high performers, as well as being self-motivating.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the In-Situ demand during the year and define appropriate actions (including recruiting).
  • Development of your team competencies as required to address current and future needs.
  • Manage personnel responsibilities including selection, training, performance appraisal, discipline, and safety in the field. Foster team development and a continuous learning environment. Monitor team performance and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Ensure that the team is utilized effectively, having the right people in the right place at the right time.
  • Foster strategic relationships with institutes of leaning to attract and develop talent.
  • Manage and maintain internal and external relationships, focused on achieving company targets.
  • Facilitate good collaboration with key stakeholders throughout the delivery chain (Sales, Lifecycle Support, Agreements, Technical Service).
  • Contribute to the annual budget preparation and service forecast evaluations.
  • Set the individual performance and development targets of your team.
  • Monitor and control the monthly process KPIs in Resources, seeking to provide information to those responsible for identifying potential failures and improvements through action plans.
  • To comply with the company's Quality, Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities policies.
  • In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties within their capabilities which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not, of necessity, change the general character or level of responsibility of the post.

Main Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or technical university or equivalent work experience in a technical service-minded organization is desired
  • Job-related experience with a technical degree and/or bachelor’s degree, and some project management experience or training is required
  • Service management skills and/or experience with coordinating service teams is desirable
  • Experience with reciprocating engines and ancillary equipment in a Mechanical/Maritime environment is required
  • Thorough understanding of the Field Service process
  • English language proficiency (Spanish considered as plus)
  • Be proficient with process tools such as SalesForce (CRM), Qlikview and FS Mobility
