We are looking for a Team Lead, Payroll Implementation to oversee a team responsible for the successful implementation of clients on our global payroll system. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and international regulations, and be able to guide and mentor team members through critical payroll onboarding processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our payroll processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with our business objectives, while also ensuring your team members are supported and successful in their roles.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Global Payroll Implementation Managers. Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring they have the resources and training needed to succeed. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
2. Project Set-up: Work with our onboarding team and clients to organize and run kick-off meetings, and deliver our implementation. Oversee the creation, maintenance, and management of project plans to deliver the successful roll-out of Global Payroll across numerous countries.
3. Client and Project Management: Support and guide team members during project review calls (internal and external), ensuring coordination and delivery on project streams. Manage any changes to the scope of work and delivery schedule, providing oversight and support to team members. Ensure that Implementation Project Managers can work independently and manage several projects simultaneously.
4. Payroll Process Requirements: Define and set-up the agreed client payroll processes, establishing all of the payroll and data requirements. Ensure each client payroll calendar is managed timely and effectively.
5. Documentation: Oversee the maintenance of detailed project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and process documentation.
6. System set-up and parallel payroll process: Define, agree, and configure all interfaces, reports, and systems configurations to successfully deliver the parallel and live payroll for month 1 and 2. Provide oversight to ensure smooth execution by team members.
7. Go-live transition, Sign-off, and documentation: Work with clients and team members to sign-off projects and document all of the client-specific needs and processes ensuring validation and confirmation on the project implementation. Responsible for generating reports to analyze, audit, and reconcile payroll data.
8. Reports: Oversee the mapping of GL reports if required.
9. Communication: Act as the principal point of contact for all payroll project matters for escalated issues and key client interactions. Ensure regular status reporting to senior leadership, with appropriate escalation of issues where necessary. Schedule and attend weekly client calls to report on project status, identifying any risks, actions, issues, and dependencies.
10. Project Management: Lead and manage the end-to-end implementation of a global payroll system, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. Provide oversight and support to team members managing their own projects.
11. Client Management: Gather key requirements from clients to facilitate the onboarding process, and guide them through the technical payroll aspects of onboarding in a professional, clear manner.
12. Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to gather payroll requirements, both for global and local needs.
13. Compliance: Ensure that all payroll processes adhere to local and international tax and labor laws, keeping up-to-date with any changes.
14. Data Migration: Oversee the migration of payroll data from legacy systems to the new global payroll system, ensuring data accuracy and security.
15. Testing: Develop and execute a comprehensive testing plan to identify and resolve system issues, ensuring a smooth transition to the new payroll system.
16. Change Management: Implement change management strategies to ensure a seamless transition for employees and HR teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Proven experience (2 years) in global payroll implementation, and (4 years) experience in running Payroll.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and compliance in multiple countries.
• Experience with various payroll systems and software.
• Proven ability in client-facing project management.
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred.
