About Systemiq

Systemiq is a system-change company founded in 2016, committed to accelerating the transition to a net-zero, nature-positive, and more inclusive economy. Operating as a certified B Corp, the organization brings together strategy, policy, market design, and capital mobilization to deliver tangible results in the real economy. Systemiq works to transform five interconnected systems: energy, nature and food, materials and circularity, sustainable finance, and urban transformation. The company partners with business, finance, policymakers, and civil society to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement by transforming markets and business models across these key sectors. With a global team of more than 380 people across Brazil, France, Germany, Indonesia, Kenya, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States, Systemiq is a pure-play sustainability-focused company dedicated exclusively to sustainability projects. The organization orchestrates system change in clean energy, circular material solutions, and sustainable land use by re-imagining industries, re-configuring the energy world, and regenerating ecosystems to address systemic failures. This work aims to unlock economic opportunities that benefit business, society, and the environment. Systemiq is united by a singular focus on sustainability and operates with core values centered on creativity, challenge, collaboration, change, and care. The Sustainable Finance platform at Systemiq is led by Partner Mattia Romani, a recognized leader in climate finance with deep expertise in mobilizing capital for sustainable development and shaping financial systems to address the climate and nature crises. Mattia previously served as Managing Director for Economics Policy and Governance at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, where he led climate investment and policy strategy. At Systemiq, he directs work on sustainable and climate finance, supporting public and private sector partners to align capital flows with net-zero and nature-positive goals while designing scalable solutions for a just transition.
