Responsibilities

• Initiating, leading and conducting the deal underwriting process in close cooperation with origination and market underwriting teams; focusing on traditional and real estate guarantees.
• Approving transactions within own underwriting authority or preparing transaction referrals when capacity required beyond own authority.
• Presenting transactions internally, engaging with risk management and defending own positions with energy, taking into consideration client needs and Swiss Re’s risk appetite.
• Assisting the underwriting lead in internal and external discussions.
• Assisting the Underwriting Manager in market screening and the definition of appropriate policies and underwriting guidance.
• Analysis of financial information of borrowers.
• Collection and analysis of general economic and sectoral research.

About the Team

This position reports directly to the Line Manager and the Head of Surety Insurance in Brazil, but needs to be aligned with the other underwriters in the area. In the structured products team, we don’t divide ourselves by type, sector, or value; the idea is that the underwriter can underwrite any risk they need (M&A; replenishment of private pension, general payments, traditional).

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in analysis of infrastructure and real estate projects, preferably in a surety insurer in Brazil.
• University graduate in Law, administration, accounting, engineering; entry‑level will be considered.
