Overview

Senior Wordpress Developer and Senior Full Stack Developer roles described for Flatiron Software Co. and associated clients. The positions involve full-stack WordPress development, UI/UX collaboration, and modern architectures including headless WordPress setups. This description consolidates responsibilities, qualifications, and expectations for remote work in a US-based context.

Day-to-Day / Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-quality, maintainable full-stack solutions
• Lead or support the development of custom WordPress themes, plugins, and Gutenberg blocks
• Build scalable headless architectures with WordPress as a backend (REST/GraphQL APIs)
• Manage SQL databases and optimize performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, PMs, and QA
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives

Key Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack development experience
• Strong experience with PHP and WordPress core development
• Experience with ACF, WordPress templating, custom post types, and plugin development
• Experience with React (especially Gutenberg block development) and Redux
• Familiarity with headless architecture, REST APIs, and GraphQL
• Proficient with Git, GitHub, and CI/CD tools
• Understanding of accessibility and performance best practices
• Experience with Agile development processes
• Strong UNIX/Linux command line skills

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Alley’s Irving framework
