Location and Flexibility

This is a hybrid role, called Work from Near (WFN), requiring on-site work at our São Paulo - SP or Porto - RS offices during the week, with flexibility for remote work on other days. The WFN culture fosters in-person innovation, collaboration, and connection with local and visiting team members from global offices.

The Opportunity

Poatek seeks a full stack Staff Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Staff Engineer, you will design and develop robust, scalable, and innovative software solutions, work closely with clients and cross-functional teams, lead technical discussions, mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and participate in hiring activities.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain high-performance, secure, and scalable full-stack applications using cutting-edge technologies.
2. Lead the design and implementation of software solutions, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
3. Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
4. Mentor and guide junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
5. Ensure software quality and reliability through effective testing methodologies, including unit and automated testing.
6. Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and methodologies for potential improvements.
7. Contribute to the growth of the engineering team by participating in hiring, conducting interviews, and providing input.

Qualifications

1. Extensive experience in full-stack web development, proficiency in JavaScript and React.
2. Strong understanding of server-side programming languages, especially .NET.
3. Knowledge of frontend technologies like HTML5, CSS3 (including server-side CSS preprocessors), and responsive UI.
4. Experience working with APIs, integrating data sources, and databases.
5. Familiarity with user authentication and authorization across systems and environments.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex technical challenges.
7. Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
8. Leadership abilities, including mentoring and guiding projects.
9. Passion for learning and staying current with industry trends.
10. Understanding of security best practices in software development.
11. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools.
12. Knowledge of testing methodologies, including automated testing platforms.
13. Experience with data visualization, big data, machine learning, voice tech, AR/VR, security, or IoT is a plus.
