Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer in Santa Catarina, Brazil to drive product development and testing across mechanical, electrical, controls and software interfaces.

You’ll optimize components, lead validation activities, and ensure designs meet performance and regulatory standards. You’ll work with cross-functional teams, manage interfaces, review test results, and contribute to technical reviews and executive presentations.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for people who are analytical and experience dealing with managers and stakeholders.
  • University Degree or equivalent a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • Advanced English.
  • Requires project management experience.
  • Mechanical/Electrical/Controls knowledge. Reading and interpretation of electrical diagrams, BOM Knowledge, CAD software.
  • Contribute to technical reviews, support activities, and executive presentations.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Managing product development activities including technical and project planning, system integration, verification, and validation.
  • Defining and managing product interfaces among mechanical, electrical, controls, and software elements.
  • Defining and executing test and qualification for systems, sub-systems, and components. Reviewing test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.
  • Testing models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess operating condition effects and necessity of modification.
  • Producing parts, specifications, designs, or sketches for machines, components, systems or work orders / purchase requests.
  • Working with quality clinic and related departments to support the test and verification of field issues.
  • Incorporating regulatory and compliance requirements across the product lifecycle

About the role

The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will execute elements of product development activities and testing. Responsible for enhancing commonality and optimization of product and components.

Key Responsibilities
