Job Summary
Lead large and/or complex projects or capabilities and direct the full research cycle. Drive knowledge building for categories / key customers and develop high performing teams.
Responsibilities / Description
- Build meaningful relationships and networks across IFF at regional and global levels.
- Expand network with other functional teams, including at global level within IFF (Creative, Marketing, Sales) to feed knowledge within the scope of the role.
- Promote IFF capabilities and be the contact point for key customers on CI-related topics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on joint initiatives and share insights.
- Collect annual business needs (Sales) for market research and share with manager for review and prioritization.
- Drive and rally cross-functional teams to common goals with compelling arguments and clear ideas.
- Improve process efficiencies by partnering with other functions (SDM, Labs, external CI agencies).
- Monitor new methods and media to foster innovation in consumer approaches.
- Contribute to promoting IFF expertise externally and internally on consumer-centric capabilities.
- Promote IFF capabilities at public forums, conferences, seminars.
- Design or customize research methods to address knowledge gaps and meet objectives.
- Initiate proactive CI initiatives for insights that aid fragrance solutions design.
- Develop value-added analysis plans for special business requests.
- Create projects in the global Project Management database (PUMA).
- Allocate resources, plan, and monitor to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Define work priorities and provide clear directions to the team.
- Organize teamwork to encourage cooperation and leverage skills.
- Escalate workload issues to the manager.
- Translate data into insights and strategic recommendations; prepare presentations.
- Gather information, synthesize data, and communicate insights effectively.
- Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
Tools
- Complete advanced training on HCI Database and in-house software (SARA).
- Review and approve access to internal tools and external tools requests.
Consumer Expertise
- Stay updated on consumer trends through communication and events.
- Share relevant expertise internally and externally.
- Leverage scientific and background research data.
Product Knowledge
- Monitor market shifts and top-seller products.
- Use background data to meet strategic needs.
- Report findings to stakeholders.
Vendor and Budget Management
- Assess agency costs and ensure cost efficiency.
- Manage procurement and vendor relationships.
- Justify extra budget needs for approval.
Team Development and Leadership
- Ensure completion of Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
- Encourage responsibilities and professional growth.
- Onboard, coach, and develop team members.
- Perform performance management and workforce planning.
- Build a positive environment and resolve conflicts.
Requirements
- Degree in Marketing, Human Sciences, Engineering, or Psychology.
- Preferably 8+ years of industry experience, including 2+ years in a management role.
- Fluent English required; additional languages are a plus.
