Sr Finance Transportation Analyst, BR Operations Finance

Amazon is seeking a Transportation Financial Analyst to help lead and oversee critical functions within this rapidly growing organization.

This Transportation Finance Analyst will be primarily responsible for business partnering, decision support, financial modeling, controllership, and operations cost reduction. This person will partner with multiple stakeholders to provide timely analysis, insightful guidance, and financial leadership to this high-growth organization. This role requires extensive cross-functional partnership with various retail, transportation, and finance teams to identify best practices across the network and lead cost improvement efforts for transportation. It will also involve performing variance analysis for monthly/quarterly business reviews as well as executing ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed.

Key job responsibilities

1. Expertise in collecting, analyzing, and managing quantitative data: Creating meaningful analyses to lead business improvement and cost reductions.
2. Develop and maintain key reporting metrics.
3. Identify and develop key business opportunities: Drive efficiency while balancing customer needs.
4. Partner across Operations: Drive continuous improvement in financial and operational performance.
5. Perform the annual operational planning process: Develop the three-year strategic plan. Drive variance analysis against budgets for the network, identifying risks and opportunities.
6. Ensure timely and accurate metrics and forecasts: Creation and maintenance.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, or business.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, planning, reporting.
• Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
• Experience creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL for data mining and business intelligence.
• Advanced English language skills.
• Preferred: MBA or CPA.
• Experience with cube engine tools (e.g., TM1, Cognos, or Essbase), SQL, and Data Warehouse.
