Title and Summary

Sr. Analyst, People Analytics

The Sr. Analyst, People Analytics will be a member of the Global People Operations and Insights team, which provides data, analytics, operational, and strategic decision support across multiple business units in regions across Mastercard.

This individual will bring experience in analytics, project management, and agile methodologies to enable data-driven decisions about talent at Mastercard. Competitive candidates will be detail-oriented, execution-focused, and accomplished at identifying opportunities to introduce consistency and scale to analytical outputs within a matrixed organization.

Role

  1. Partners closely with Senior Data Analysts within the broader People Operations and Insights team to identify opportunities to create scalable reporting solutions and visualizations.
  2. Develop Tableau/PowerBI dashboards and reports that adhere to visualization best practices and communicate a story.
  3. Participate in drafting documents and presentations for communicating innovations, ideas, or discoveries.
  4. Contribute to strengthening a motivated, innovative, and productive team that creates next-generation analytics for Mastercard.
  5. Generate and implement ideas to continuously improve analytics and reporting services delivery.
  6. See beyond requestors’ asks to understand the root query or challenge for which data are being requested.
  7. Validate and enforce people data integrity in collaboration with Data Management & HR Systems teams.
  8. Own project management responsibilities and seek guidance from senior members to help manage the book of work with the Technology team at Mastercard.
  9. Demonstrate exceptional judgment and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive people data.
  10. Bring agile methodologies experience (preferably Jira).

  • Experience working with organizational/workforce data.
  • Ability to collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build professional relationships, influence, and negotiate.
  • Proficiency in Alteryx and Tableau/PowerBI.
  • Proficiency in data preparation/ETL.
  • Knowledge of a programming language like R or Python.
  • Strong SQL skills, including writing, executing, and optimizing complex queries.
  • Experience developing complex reporting and analytics applications.
  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable

  • Experience with data modeling tools.
  • Experience with optimization models.
  • Experience working in cloud platforms.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Analytics, Computer Science, Business, Psychology, Management, or a related discipline.
