Role Purpose

We are seeking a highly qualified Dental Professional to serve as a Clinical Research Specialist for our Global Technology Center in São Paulo. This role bridges clinical science and practical dentistry, requiring the design, implementation, and oversight of clinical research trials. The successful candidate will assist in drafting protocols, ensuring rigorous compliance with global Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards, and managing external clinical sites across the LATAM region.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

1. Protocol Design, Development, and Internal Approvals

  • Protocol Originator: Draft clinical protocols under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Clearance Review: Route study protocols through internal document management systems for regulatory and safety clearance.
  • Safety Standards: Confirm that all research protocols contain required safety clearances, including comprehensive adverse event logging and accessible emergency contacts for participants.

2. Site Management and Trial Monitoring

  • Sponsor Monitoring: Participate in and support site selection/initiation, conduct routine monitoring visits, and formal close-out procedures across regional external research sites.
  • Data Verification: Perform meticulous Source Data Verification, auditing consent forms and participant eligibility.
  • Documentation: Ensure systematic tracking and archiving of trial milestones, protocol deviations, and monitoring logs within the Trial Master File.

3. Regulatory Compliance and Safety Oversight

  • Global Compliance: Uphold strict adherence to local LATAM regulations and international ICH-GCP frameworks.
  • Vigilance: Coordinate and expedite the reporting of Adverse Events (AEs) and Serious Adverse Events (SAEs) with Global Vigilance.
  • Registry Management: Manage and update trial profiles on public registries such as ClinicalTrials.gov and local platforms like ReBEC.
  • Randomization: Control and manage blinded randomization processes to preserve trial integrity.

4. Investigator Training and Calibration

  • Instruction: Coordinate logistics and documentation for site orientation, investigator meetings, and training/calibration sessions; ensure the site is trained and examiners are calibrated.
  • Verification: Deliver and record trial-specific training to ensure thorough understanding of study protocols and reporting channels.

5. Budgetary Control and Supply Logistics

  • Financials: Oversee agreement formulations, establish external trial budgets, and secure approval from the Clinical Research department.
  • Logistics: Partner with product development teams to evaluate supply demands; coordinate the distribution, tracking, and reconciliation of investigational products.
Requirements and Core Competencies

Educational Prerequisites:

  • DDS / BDS: Degree in Dentistry. AND
  • Advanced Research Degree: Master's in Public Health, Pharmacy, Oral Biology, Clinical Research, or related fields.

Experience Requirements:

  • Proven experience in clinical trials, specifically within dental research or a comparable domain.
  • Demonstrated competence in monitoring clinical trial sites.Proven track record of drafting clinical protocols, interacting with CEP/IRB frameworks, and managing entries in international trial registries.
  • Methodological Fluency: Apply knowledge of clinical research and GCP/ICH standards.
  • Digital Fluency: In using electronic clinical trial management systems and cloud software.
  • Language Proficiency: Full professional fluency in written and spoken English and Portuguese; proficiency in Spanish is highly advantageous for regional LATAM oversight.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Public Health, Pharmacy, Oral Biology, Clinical Research, or related fields.
