About the role:

As a Software Engineer on the Core Services Engineering team in Brazil, you will be a member of Uber’s first Tech Center in LATAM and part of the global engineering team.

Core Services Engineering develops and manages infrastructure that powers all Uber apps. Operating across 70+ countries and processing millions of transactions per second, the team aims to meet the evolving needs of Uber's current and future business.

As a key part of the customer journey, we build engaging products by solving deep technical challenges in domains specific to Uber’s business.

You will write reliable, maintainable code that teams across the company depend on, collaborating with team members to design, develop, and maintain user interfaces and features for Android applications.

What You'll Do:

• Design financial services solutions
• Develop in Android using Java or Kotlin
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, etc.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders, including Product Managers.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
• At least 3 years of experience working with Android applications and software engineering
• Proficiency in Java and Kotlin, with strong knowledge of both languages used for Android development
• Experience with Android SDK, core libraries, tools, and frameworks
• Knowledge of Android architecture, UI/UX design principles, and experience designing responsive, intuitive user interfaces
• Advanced English skills to collaborate with global teams
