A leading remote technology firm is looking for a skilled React Software Engineer based in Brazil. You will help build high-performing, scalable applications. The ideal candidate should have over 3 years of experience in Javascript and at least 2 years with React or NextJS, with a focus on TDD and BDD methodologies. This is a fully remote opportunity with work hours aligned to Pacific Time.

Metal Toad is a fully remote company, offering all team members the ability to work from home. For this opportunity, the selected candidate must be available to work Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time (PST).

Although Metal Toad is a remote company, we are currently seeking contractors residing in Brazil for this position. Compensation will be made in Brazilian Reais (R$), in accordance with the local currency of the country where the position is located. Due to legal limitations, we are unable to sponsor any type of visa.

Job description: The React Software Engineer position at Metal Toad requires experience in building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications. You will be part of a talented team that works on mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities

• Able to adapt to dynamic and collaborative work environments, make independent decisions and communicate them effectively.
• Confirms project requirements by reviewing program objectives, input data, and output requirements with PMs, supervisors, and clients.
• Provides estimates based on requirements, wireframes, and designs.

• Own project success by proactively communicating risks, known issues, and changelogs.
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Work as part of a team.
• Code conforms to best practices.
• Appreciate the value of well-tested code.
• Perform peer code reviews.
• Create projects that are free of major defects.

  • 3+ years of experience with Javascript.
  • 2+ years of experience with React or NextJS.
  • REST APIs development and deployment.
  • JSON modeling and usage.
  • Querying and modeling using a relational data store.
  • Using package managers such as npm or pip.
  • Using Git for source control.
• Experience in TDD and/or BDD.
  • Strives to enhance project test coverage.

Nice to have

• AWS Certifications or be willing to get certified.
• Interest in Generative AI technologies.
