We are seeking a professional to implement advanced financial governance practices for Cloud.
This role is responsible for optimizing the use of Google Cloud, with a focus on Big Data resources, ensuring alignment between operational efficiency, performance, and cost control.
The position requires expertise in GCP and the ability to lead initiatives that promote FinOps best practices and financial sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of FinOps strategies on GCP, optimizing costs in services such as BigQuery, BigTable, Dataflow, Dataproc, Composer, Storage, and general IaaS.
- Design and implement automated pipelines for data collection and analysis using SQL, Looker, and APIs.
- Configure and manage alerts, quotas, and limits policies on GCP.
- Establish and manage labels, folders, and project policies for efficient cost tracking.
- Collaborate with SRE, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams to identify cost bottlenecks and propose optimized architectural solutions.
- Implement automation for resource management using Python and GO, integrating with pipelines via Terraform, Cloud Functions, or GKE.
- Propose and manage reservation strategies and usage commitments.
- Create and maintain detailed reports/dashboards on costs, forecasts, and efficiency, integrating with BI solutions and monitoring APIs.
- Serve as a technical reference for cost optimization and cloud governance decisions.
Required Knowledge:
- Expertise in GCP.
- Strong experience with Big Data services on GCP.
- Proficiency in automation using Python/GO and APIs.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Familiarity with FinOps best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Google Cloud Professional Certification (Architect, Data Engineer, or FinOps Practitioner).
- Experience with IBM CloudHealth.
- Knowledge of ML/AI frameworks for forecasting and trend analysis.
- Experience in multi-cloud environments.
