AgileEngine is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to operate and improve a Kubernetes-based API platform across public and private cloud environments. You will handle automation, tooling, and incident management to keep services reliable and scalable.

The role emphasizes hands-on Kubernetes, Linux fundamentals, observability, and incident response. You will onboard new clients, build diagnostics, and drive capacity planning while collaborating across teams in a flexible remote-friendly

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production.
• Strong Linux and command line fundamentals.
• Experience debugging complex systems from application layer to infrastructure.
• Public cloud experience, Azure or AWS.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the Kubernetes-based platform across public and private cloud environments.
• Work with observability tooling to ensure actionable alerts with up-to-date runbooks and documentation.
• Manage incidents end-to-end, including incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
• Onboard and support new clients onto the platform.
• Build automation and diagnostic tooling that reduces manual effort and improves performance.
• Identify and deliver process improvements.
• Support software and hardware upgrades and keep components up to date.
• Proactively manage capacity so the platform scales with demand.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to operate and improve a Kubernetes-based API platform across public and private cloud environments, including automation, tooling, and incident management.

MUST HAVES

• 4+ years of hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production, ideally with Service Mesh.
• Strong Linux and command line fundamentals.
• Confident debugging and troubleshooting complex systems, from the application layer through to lower-level infrastructure.
• Experience working with a public cloud provider, preferably Azure or AWS.

NICE TO HAVES

• Working knowledge of Grafana, Prometheus, Loki and Tempo is a plus.
• Scripting or coding in Python or Java is a strong plus.
• CI/CD, infrastructure as code such as Helm or Terraform is a plus.
• Financial services background is not required.
