Job summary

CAE Defence & Security – Indo-Pacific is seeking a motivated Simulator Technician I to perform routine tasks in simulator, laboratory, field, or operational environments while building proficiency in maintenance and support activities.

You will participate in training, perform preventive maintenance, assist in diagnosing issues, document activities, and support refurbishment and logistics, with a focus on quality and safety within CAE's processes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (2-year) in Electronics, Avionics, or related technical discipline; or equivalent training/experience.
• 0–2 years of relevant technical experience.
• Ability to work flexible schedules and adapt to changing requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation.
• Experience using electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, logic analyzers).
• Knowledge of analog and digital electronics principles.
• Basic computer proficiency and understanding of computer systems/architectures.
• Experience performing soldering and circuit board repair.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine technical tasks on-site, in the field, or in a laboratory environment.
• Participate in training related to laboratory, office, plant, and field-based technical work.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities on simulators and related systems.
• Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical issues affecting simulators and related systems.
• Document maintenance activities using CMMS or similar systems.
• Complete required training activities.
• Conduct pre-flight and post-flight simulator activities on designated devices.
• Perform basic visual alignments.
• Execute QTG testing.
• Support simulator refurbishment and hardware modifications.
• Follow CAE's Quality Management System requirements.
• Provide timely customer support and respond to customer needs.
• Perform housekeeping and maintenance-related activities to support simulator readiness.
• Support logistics activities, including receipt of parts, repair coordination, testing, and validation tasks.
• Complete administrative activities as required.
• Assist the Technical Services team with additional duties.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Perform routine technical tasks on-site, in the field, or in a laboratory environment.
• Participate in training related to laboratory, office, plant, and field-based technical work.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities on simulators and associated systems.
• Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical issues affecting simulators and related systems.
• Utilize maintenance management systems to document and track maintenance activities.
• Complete all required training activities.
• Conduct pre-flight and post-flight simulator activities on designated devices.
• Perform basic visual alignments.
• Execute automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG) testing.
• Support simulator refurbishment activities and hardware modifications.
• Comply with CAE's Quality Management System requirements and procedures.
• Provide timely customer support and respond to customer needs.
• Perform housekeeping and maintenance-related activities to support simulator readiness.
• Support logistics activities, including receipt of parts, repair coordination, testing, and validation tasks.
• Complete administrative activities as required.
• Support the Technical Services team with additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree (2-year technical diploma) in Electronics, Avionics, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent technical training and experience.
• 0-2 years of relevant technical experience.
• Ability to work flexible schedules and adapt to changing operational requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation.
• Experience using electronic test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and logic analyzers.
• Knowledge of analog and digital electronics principles.
• Basic computer proficiency and understanding of computer systems and architectures.
• Experience performing soldering and circuit board repair activities.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting flight simulators or simulation systems.
• Experience working in a maintenance, electronics, avionics, aerospace, or technical service environment.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Experience supporting customer-facing technical operations.
• E-verify if you have added it and ensure pay transparency if required.
