Wärtsilä is seeking a Service Technician (4 Stroke) to join our Field Service team. The role involves overhauls and repairs on 4-stroke medium-speed engines, interacting with customers, and reporting progress while adhering to QEHS guidelines.

The position is based globally, with a preferred location in Niterói, Brazil. A technical degree in mechanics or a related field is required, with English at an intermediate/advanced level.

Qualificações

• Technical degree in mechanics, automation, naval or related field.
• Experience in reciprocating engine repair and overhaul.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is a plus.
• English at intermediate or advanced level.
• Experience with 4-stroke engines and related systems.

Responsabilidades

• Perform overhauls and repairs on 4-stroke medium-speed engines.
• Interact professionally with customers during the work execution.
• Perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work.
• Assist in creating the Service Work Reports.
• Ensure work is executed according to QEHS guidelines and site procedures.
• Follow-up and report status of work orders to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Continuously seek solutions according to best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Perform overhauls and repairs on 4-stroke medium-speed engines.


• Interact professionally with customers during the work execution.


• Perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work.


• Assistance in creating the Service Work Reports.


• Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.


• Follow-up and report on the status of work orders to customers and/or internal stakeholders.


• Continuously seek solutions according to best practices.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

• A passion for developing your 4-stroke knowledge to the next level.


• A Technical degree in a relevant field (mechanics, automation, naval, or others).


• A completed or in-progress Bachelor's degree in Engineering is a plus


• English is needed at intermediary or advanced level


• Technical experience in reciprocating engine repair and overhaul with practical problem-solving skills.


• Experience in installation, operation, and maintenance of turbochargers, pumps, heat exchangers, fuel systems, lubrication systems, and cooling systems.


• Interact professionally and deliver solutions to customers during the work execution.


• Experience with 4-stroke engines, preferably low and medium speed.


• Experience in working with electrical systems is a plus.
