Description

As a Snr Vendor Manager Direct Imports you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver the Importation selection strategy to customers. The Cross Border team is looking for a smart, customer centric, driven, and analytical candidate to develop and drive our direct import business in Brazil. You will have responsibility for end-to-end business ownership of the import supply chain processes from manufacturer to the availability in our Fulfillment Centers and for developing and implementing inventory management strategies to optimize customer experience.

The position requires an individual who can work autonomously in a fast paced, demanding and often ambiguous environment. Additionally since this position involves working with multiple teams and partners in a fast growing opportunity, the role requires strong stakeholder management capabilities and ownership with great bias for action in getting things done themselves. In this role, you will be a true entrepreneur, exercising your commercial acumen and managing all aspects of your business on a daily basis.

Key job responsibilities

  • Educate and onboard vendors to Amazon Direct Imports.

  • Build and maintain relationships with Senior leaders, Finance, Retail and partners to grow and optimize the joint import business.

  • Develop and improve vendor relations and import sourcing for cost savings and new selection.

  • Work with key stakeholders around the world to maintain alignment.

  • Drive integration between new vendors and Amazon supply chain, product compliance and merchandising processes.

  • Contribute to the development of best practices and contract standards.

  • Monitor, analyze and own key performance indicators such as vendor import share, out of stock rate, vendor operational metrics, marketing investments.

  • Work with vendors and Amazon operations to ensure a reliable, operational a cost effective flow of goods, from ordering to receive.

  • Work with internal teams to understand the systems and variables that affect purchasing and vendor management decisions.

  • Lead projects and regular business improvement initiatives.

A day in the life

Retail Managers are owners of the Retail business. Either for subcategories or subgroup of vendors they own the respective business end-to-end including the entire P&L, from topline down to free cash flow. They manage inputs by driving selection, securing great prices and increasing convenience/speed to accelerate Amazon’s flywheel. While they focus their activities on our most strategically relevant vendors and holdouts, they audit and escalate the performance of lower tiered vendors.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of with Excel experience

  • Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of professional or military experience

  • Experience using data to influence business decisions

  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration

  • Experience with business analysis and P&L management

  • Excel and data tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL
