Job summary

Epic Games in Brazil is seeking a full-time Senior Tester II for our testing group. You will own the testing approach for a specialized domain within a major Epic product, and will make it faster and more reliable through better methods, tooling, and data.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of QA/Testing experience in games or software.
• Experience embedded within a development team throughout the SDLC.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
• Proven track record improving testing via tooling, process change, or data.

• Design and introduce sustainable testing methods, including tooling, automation aids, or data analysis.
• Proactively identify systemic problems and develop semi-permanent solutions.
• Perform test gap and risk analysis using defect data and coverage insights.
• Provide the development team with reports on blocking issues, test results, and overall quality status.
• Escalate quality concerns with a recommended path forward.
• Self-prioritize your work weekly and help shape the team’s priorities.
• Mentor testers and act as a domain reference for adjacent teams.

The Quality Assurance team owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all products and functions across Epic. Our team works closely with developers and production to ensure the best possible user experience for our community and customers.

What You’ll Do

Epic Games is looking for a full-time Senior Tester II for our testing group in Brazil. The person in this role will own the testing approach for a specialized domain within a major Epic product, and will be expected to make that domain measurably faster and more reliable to test over time through better methods, tooling, and use of data. You will work embedded with the development team, developing and executing tests with or without QA Analyst guidance, and proactively identifying problems beyond the day-to-day in order to solve them at the root rather than one case at a time. The Senior Tester II is also a technical reference point for the wider test team, mentoring testers and raising the quality bar through example. In this role, you will

• Own the test approach for your area, developing and executing tests independently, with or without QA Analyst guidance
• Design and introduce sustainable testing methods, including tooling, automation aids, or data analysis, that measurably increase the throughput or efficiency of testing efforts
• Proactively identify systemic problems that go beyond day-to-day concerns and develop semi-permanent solutions instead of one-off fixes
• Perform test gap and risk analysis for your domain, using defect data and coverage insights to redirect testing effort to where it matters most
• Provide the development team with reports on blocking issues, test results, and overall quality status, framing risk in terms the team can act on
• Escalate quality concerns that cannot be resolved within existing constraints, bringing a recommended path forward
• Self-prioritize your work on a week-to-week basis and help shape the team’s priorities aligned with product goals
• Mentor testers on your team and act as a domain reference for adjacent teams, sharing context, methods, and standards

What we’re looking for

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in QA/Testing at games or software, including experience working embedded within a development team throughout the software development life cycle
• Demonstrated depth in the product areas you have tested, with the judgment to know where risk concentrates and how to go after it
• Fluent in English and Portuguese
• A track record of improving how testing gets done, through tooling, process change, or data, with evidence of the resulting impact
• Ability to analyze defect trends and coverage gaps, and to act on that analysis to prevent future issues
• Experience with gaming consoles and/or mobile devices
• Experience with game engines such as Unreal and Unity
• Proficient with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Xray, QMetry) and issue tracking systems like Jira
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to drive alignment on quality with developers, designers, and production
• Experience mentoring less experienced testers
