John Deere is seeking a Senior Technical Lead in Indaiatuba, SP to drive embedded systems and software solutions for intelligent agricultural equipment. You will lead technical direction, collaborate with global teams, and mentor engineers while delivering high-quality products.

You will ensure traceability, verification, and continuous improvement across the engineering lifecycle, with hands-on involvement in design reviews, testing, and field validation.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related field.
• Strong experience in software engineering or complex software-intensive systems.
• Experience leading technical projects, major product features, or engineering teams.
• Experience in systems engineering, including requirements, architecture, interfaces, integration, and verification.
• Ability to bring structure to ambiguous situations, make sound decisions, and deliver results with limited supervision.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience involving software, hardware, systems, and test environments.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing teams without formal authority.
• Strong communication skills, advanced English proficiency, and effective collaboration with global and cross-functional teams.
• Availability to travel ~15% of the time and work in Indaiatuba, SP, Brazil with some remote work.

• Mentor engineers, provide actionable feedback, share knowledge, and strengthen team capability and ownership.
• Leverage AI throughout the engineering lifecycle to improve analysis, development, testing, reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Promote engineering quality through traceability, maintainability, automated verification, technical reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Stay close to customers and products through machine testing, field validation, and other hands-on product activities.

About The Role

As a Senior Technical Lead - Systems and Software Engineering at John Deere, based in our Research & Development Center in Indaiatuba/SP, you will lead the development of innovative embedded systems and software solutions for intelligent agricultural equipment. You will combine technical leadership, project execution, and people development while working closely with products, customers, and global engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions that solve real-world challenges.

What Skills You Need

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience in software engineering or complex software-intensive systems.
• Experience leading technical projects, major product features, or engineering teams.
• Experience in systems engineering, including requirements, architecture, interfaces, integration, and verification.
• Ability to bring structure to ambiguous situations, make sound decisions, and deliver results with limited supervision.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience involving software, hardware, systems, and test environments.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing teams without formal authority.
• Strong communication skills, advanced English proficiency, and effective collaboration with global and cross-functional teams.
• Ability and willingness to learn quickly and work beyond your current area of expertise.
• Availability to travel approximately 15% of the time.
• Availability to work in Indaiatuba, SP, Brazil, with flexible working hours and up to one day per week of remote work.

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience with C/C++, Python, RTOS, Linux, model-based development (MBD), or embedded communication technologies such as CAN, ISOBUS, Ethernet, or Bluetooth.
• Knowledge of ASPICE, V-Model, functional safety, ISO 25119, CI/CD, test automation, or requirements traceability.
• Practical experience using AI assistants, automation, or agent-based engineering workflows.
• Hands-on experience with electronics debugging, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems, machine testing, or field validation.
