Job summary

BP PLC is seeking a Senior iOS Software Engineer to design, build, and operate high-quality native iOS applications. You will collaborate with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, and data teams to deliver performant, reliable, and user-centric mobile experiences across our platforms.

You will own architecture decisions, drive code quality, and contribute to engineering improvements while working in a hybrid environment that blends office and remote work in Brazil.

You will work closely with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, and data teams to deliver performant, reliable, and user-centric iOS applications.**Key Accountabilities*** Design and build high-quality native iOS applications and features end-to-end.* Collaborate with backend teams to define and integrate APIs and services.* Continuously improve app performance, reliability, and user experience.* Identify and address technical debt and drive engineering improvements.* Contribute to architecture decisions and evolution of the mobile platform.* Apply engineering best practices and support peers through collaboration and code reviews.* Work closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into well-designed mobile solutions. **Essential Education:** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience**Essential Experience and Job Requirements:** * Strong problem-solving skills with ability to design and deliver effective solutions.* Excellent communication skills; able to influence across engineering and business partners.* Self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, ownership, and driving outcomes end-to-end. - Professional proficiency in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams; Portuguese proficiency is preferred for local collaboration.**Software skills** * Expert in Swift (and Objective-C as needed), building high-quality native iOS applications (UIKit/SwiftUI).* Strong in iOS architecture and system design (e.g., MVVM or similar).* Proven ability to ship and operate production iOS apps, including performance optimisation and App Store releases.* Deep understanding of mobile engineering standard processes: testing (unit/UI), CI/CD, security, and maintainable code.* Experience building end-to-end mobile systems with focus on reliability, privacy, and user experience. **Infrastructure skills** * Strong understanding of **cloud-based architectures (AWS/Azure)** and how mobile apps interact with backend systems.* Experience working with **APIs, authentication, and distributed systems** in production environments.* Ability to troubleshoot production issues across **mobile and backend integrations**. **Database skills** * Working knowledge of data storage patterns relevant to mobile apps and backend systems.
