Your Impact

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer II with expertise in full stack with familiarity in Python and Generative AI, and cloud technology.

You’ll be a member of a global team working on engineering problems, based in one of our offices. Our McKinsey Tech Ecosystem function is responsible for developing and delivering all technology solutions for the firm’s internal use.

You will work in a product team with engineers, designers, and product managers doing application development with the purpose of delivering impactful AI solutions, leveraging the best of the data within the firm.

You'll join a high-impact internal engineering team focused on building and scaling next-generation digital tools used across the firm. The team spans multiple global locations, collaborating across North America, Europe, and Latin America. We're at the forefront of delivering innovative, secure, and intelligent platforms that empower our people, streamline operations, and enable smarter decision-making across the organization.

As a Senior Software Engineer II within McKinsey’s Tech Ecosystem, you will be at the forefront of our firm's larger initiatives. Your role will involve writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining application code using core technologies.

Your expertise will play a key role in solving complex technical challenges and shaping the evolution of our internal products and platforms. You'll stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends—whether in cloud, security, automation, or AI—and apply them to build robust, forward-looking solutions. Working closely with a global, cross-functional team, you’ll help drive innovation that enhances the way our people work and delivers tangible impact across the firm.

Your Qualifications and Skills

Years of software development experience
JavaScript/TypeScript and API design patterns (e.g., Golang, Elixir, Rust) is a plus
AWS that are secure, scalable, and performant such as OAuth, SAML, and JWT (e.g., Postgres, Redis, DynamoDB)
GenAI features (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone), and processing of structured/unstructured data
CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployment workflows
