Job summary

Philips is seeking a Senior Product Development Analyst (EE) to join our global health technology team in Minas Gerais, Brazil. You will drive hardware development for medical devices, designing PCBA boards, cables, and components while adhering to Design Controls and maintaining the Design History File.

You will analyze and optimize existing hardware, evaluate components for quality, cost, and schedule, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across the globe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic).
• 1+ years of electronic development experience.
• Experience with PCBA design and EMI/EMC troubleshooting (USB, RS485, LVDS).
• Knowledge of project management, organization and communication.
• Advanced English skills for global collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Ensure changes follow the Design Controls process and manage the Design History File.
• Design PCBAs, cables, wiring and components per design controls.
• Analyze and optimize existing hardware.
• Evaluate electronic components for quality, cost and time criteria.
• Define and execute systemic and unit tests to verify design effectiveness.
• Fix and improve product designs.
• Write and maintain technical documentation per Philips process.
• Support cross-functional teams in device-related technical matters.

Responsibilities

• Assure the changes are implemented following the Design Controls process and best practices. Manage the Design History File.
• Acting in the medical devices hardware development. Designing PCBAs, cables, wiring and components following Philips' design controls process.
• Analyzing, optimizing the existing hardware of our products.
• Evaluating electronic/electrical components to help define the project feasibility according to the required quality, cost and time criteria.
• Contributing to define and execute systemic and unit tests to verify the effectiveness of the design.
• Contributing to fix and improve the design of the products.
• Writing and maintaining the technical documentation according to Philips process.
• Support cross functional teams in technical affairs related to the devices.

You are part of

A global R&D sustaining organization, which deals with medical devices assurance of supply, optimization and keeping the products compliant with the State‑of‑the‑Art.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer‑first attitude and the following

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic)
• 1+ years of experience in electronic development, such as design, refinement, depuration, optimization of electronic circuitry, to evaluate, propose and implement component changes, optimization and other inherent tasks for product engineering work.
• Know‑how in complex PCBA design (multi‑layer, BGA, high‑frequency signals), experience in design and troubleshooting for EMI, EMC issues, communications (USB, RS485, LVDS) and optical components and cables.
• Desired knowledge in Project Management, good organization and communication skills.
• Advanced English skills to act in a global organization, working together with teams from Germany, USA and China.
• It’s desirable to have experience with electronic CADs (Orcad, Mentor, etc.).
