Job Overview:

The Senior Pipeline Drafter completes various Pipeline Drafting assignments as needed and can complete work with limited supervision. They are an informal resource for colleagues with less Pipeline Drafting experience. The Senior Pipeline Drafter has developed proficiency in various analytical processes or procedures for assigned tasks. They provide solutions to problems in atypical or infrequently occurring situations based on existing precedents or procedures. They directly impact the quality of the work of the team.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• High School diploma or higher with a focus in drafting, engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of Pipeline Drafter experience in the Oil & Gas Construction Industry, with a focus on pipelines and the ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of pipeline design principles and practices
• Proficiency in using CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, PDS, PDMS, Bently Microstation or similar tools, for creating pipeline/piping designs and drawings
• Strong understanding of pipeline/piping design concepts, including isometric, orthographic, and schematic drawings
• Knowledge of industry-specific codes and standards like ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, API 570, API 1104 and ASME Sections VIII & IX
• Familiarity with EPCI project execution methods, such as FEED (Front-End Engineering Design), detailed engineering, procurement, and construction
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality in drawing creation and review processes
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, clients, and vendors
• Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve technical issues/conflicts about pipeline/piping designs

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and develop detailed design drawings for pipeline systems using computer-aided design (CAD) software, adhering to project specifications and requirements
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to interpret technical requirements and translate them into accurate and reliable drawings
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, regulations, and company standards while drafting pipeline designs
• Perform quality checks on design drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements
• Assist in the review and modification of existing designs to optimize the performance, efficiency, and safety of pipeline systems
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to resolve design issues and provide technical expertise and support when required
• Stay up to date with industry developments, advancements, and emerging technologies related to pipeline design, and apply this knowledge to enhance design processes and outcomes
• Train and mentor junior drafter, ensuring their professional growth and development
• Implement Prefabrication, Erection methods, and DC reports information into a shop drawing
• Implement design change in the shop drawing based on approved SQ, TQ, SI, and ARN
• Identify non-original scope using the Change Management System
