The position is for the Senior Manager, Telecom at FIFA Women’s World Cup. FIFA27 will be established as the Local FIFA Subsidiary in Brazil, to work with FIFA HQ in Zurich and globally, to deliver the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 (FWWC2027).

The Position
The Senior Telecom Manager is responsible for managing the Telecom Infrastructure planning, delivery, and operations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 TM (FWWC 2027) within Brazil. The role entails coordinating with all relevant parties on the planning, implementation, readiness and operations of all Telecom services pertinent to the tournament and/or associated events within Brazil.
Key Responsibilities
- Review Telecom Infrastructure design and ensure all aspects of the Telecom deliverables are implemented at venues and offices according to FIFA requirements: Broadcast Contribution Network, Event/Stadium/Offices/Legacy Networks, CATV/IPTV, Cabling, Mobile Network, Radio and Spectrum, Telephony (VoIP), Telecom Rate Card.
- Actively participate in the scope definition, procurement liaison, supplier selection and onboarding of Telecom and Network suppliers
- Lead the management of Telecom infrastructure build and implementation, ensuring timely availability of components and services and including the commissioning and decommissioning of venues.
- Overseeing the effective and efficient provision of Telecom services for FIFA Offices, Tournaments and Events at select FIFA Events.
- Track the progress of Telecom Infrastructure implementation, report status, issues and risks related to Telecom Infrastructure projects and operations, according to IT governance and keep counterpart aligned.
- Manage an international Team of Telecom Experts/Managers including remote personnel in other countries/time zones.
- Liaise with and/or support other projects in clarifying requirements, adhering to robust change management protocol.
- Ensure that all information pertaining to the delivery and support of Telecom Infrastructure are communicated to and well understood by all parties.
- Deliver technical guidance, coaching & mentoring to team members, including preparation of good practice and educational material for personnel.
Your Profile
- University degree or similar higher education in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
- A minimum experience of 8-10 years in Network (routing/switching/security/wireless technologies)
- Experience in the Sports / major event industry
- Proven track record of successful delivery of complex Telecom Infrastructure Projects
- Experience in Management of distributed international team of telecom experts and professionals
- Strong IT skills and relevant knowledge in Telecom Infrastructure Service, including infrastructure design and implementation, network integration and connectivity.
- Broad understanding of Telecom Infrastructure and Information Technologies in Sport Events with sufficient experience in design, commissioning and operation of BCN, WAN/MAN/LAN, MPLS, VLAN, VoIP, CATV/IPTV, Multicast, Spectrum, Mobile Networks
- Good Procurement and contract management skills
- Aptitude for consulting, negotiating, communicating, consensus building and facilitation
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent people management, verbal and written communication, training, and presentation skills
- Team player, willing to work with tight timelines
- Positive attitude, patience and persistence
- Right to work in Brazil
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Fluent in Portuguese (spoken and written)
- Proficiency in any other FIFA language (FR/ ES/ GER) is an asset
- Willing to travel within Brazil (up to 20%), with some trips lasting 15 days or more
- Ability to relocate to Rio de Janeiro
