Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Xometry. You will help move our machine learning capabilities to the next level as AI becomes the enabler and center of our core business strategy. You will be part of a small, intensely skilled team with ownership of their work and a strong emphasis on learning and coding, playing a crucial role in the Xometry platform.

Responsibilities

• Explore new machine learning opportunities, research and perform proofs of concepts, and bring new ML/AI solutions into Xometry’s platform
• Develop and implement ML models to improve prediction of cost, price, and sourcing options for customers and suppliers
• Lead evaluation of emerging technologies, identify improvement areas, and develop new features while ensuring reliability and scalability
• Lead exploration of emerging AI/ML technologies and develop proofs-of-concept to assess potential impact
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize features, and define technical solutions based on latest innovations
• Monitor ML/AI performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing to help other teams use Xometry’s AI effectively

Qualifications

• Experience with state-of-the-art ML modeling techniques (transformers, self-supervised pre-training, generative modeling, LLMs, etc.)
• Experience with large-scale data processing and training/applying models at scale using frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Ability to bridge cutting-edge approaches to real-world impact
• Cloud-native software craftsperson with hands-on experience with containers, orchestration, and distributed systems
• Self-driven engineer who can own problems and deliver solutions
• Strong software fundamentals with experience in design patterns, refactoring, OOP, and testing
• Cloud practitioner who builds systems with Infrastructure as Code and a shift-left mindset
• Comfort with SQL and/or NoSQL, database design, and data analysis
• Experience building and consuming CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency with command line and Unix-like systems
• 5+ years in engineering roles building large-scale ML-driven user-facing products
• 3+ years leading cross-team engineering efforts
• Strong execution skills in project management
