Job Description

The role will be responsible for the general legal affairs relating to Brazil. It will be part of the Brazil Leadership Team and will work with third-party stakeholders, including external counsels.

This position serves as an ambassador role and requires strong leadership to manage both routine and critical situations.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Supporting and assisting the day-to-day business operations of AA by providing proactive, practical, clear, and concise legal advice in all areas of law and regulation, with a focus on Brazil's local goals and objectives;
  2. Developing and maintaining legal templates and guidelines to share with non-legal teams in the relevant territory, and drafting/reviewing various commercial contracts;
  3. Assisting with litigation matters;
  4. Interacting with and managing external counsels;
  5. Advising on commercial policies and competition law matters;
  6. Supporting the business on commercial claims and disputes, especially regarding advertising and promotion of products;
  7. Managing legal risks and preventing legal issues;
  8. Monitoring, anticipating, and reporting changes to applicable legislation;
  9. Providing legal support to various functional programs, including corporate governance, data protection, regulatory inspections, incident management, real estate, and leasing;
  10. Assisting HR with employment law matters, GPP for counterfeit products, and Company Secretariat functions;
  11. Performing secondary IP work in coordination with the Corporate IP Department;
  12. Managing the legal budget for Brazil in coordination with LATAM Legal functions;
  13. Interfacing with Business units, Support Functions, and Senior Management;
  14. Managing multiple complex projects;
  15. Producing reports, presentations, and documentation;
  16. Providing regular updates to Leadership as a member of the Brazil leadership team;
  17. Overseeing and managing documentation and records.

Pre-requirements

  • Lawyer with at least 10 years of experience;
  • Graduated in Law;
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical and/or medical devices industry;
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English; Spanish is a plus;
  • Must not pose a threat or harm to property, self, or others;
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies.
