Senior Jira (Java/Aws) Developer

Project Description :

We're looking for an experienced JIRA Developer to help us administer and develop the system used by all Engineering teams in the organization. This role is critical for our operations. You will collaborate with senior managers to set up an agile development process within the new ticketing system and establish processes for our source code management. Additionally, you will assist Engineering and Operations teams in migrating their current processes to the new system, work with various development teams to automate systems supporting development and testing, and define guidelines for future system enhancements.

The Atlassian Developer is responsible for the administration, maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements of JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, and integrations with other tools or plugins.

Responsibilities :

1. Administer JIRA (Core and Software), Confluence, and develop solutions using JIRA and related plugins/Atlassian products.
2. Create JIRA projects, queries, and reports.
3. Design custom workflows, post functions, and validators.
4. Modify workflows, screens, fields, and reporting tools.
5. Oversee system architecture, providing recommendations and improvements.
6. Migrate existing systems to a new central system.
7. Provide first-level support for system issues.
8. Define and maintain SLAs and processes, including server uptime and consistency.
9. Establish development guidelines for custom integrations or plugins, collaborating with development teams.
10. Review and approve new plugins or custom developments.
11. Define and socialize the roadmap for system enhancements.
12. Manage development of key system-wide customizations.
13. Mentor, guide, and train current Jira Administrators.
14. Define and train users on best practices.

Mandatory Skills :

• BS degree in engineering with at least 5 years of experience in systems engineering, integration, and testing.
• At least 2 years of experience with Jira, developing custom plugins and integrations using Atlassian SDK.
• Over 4 years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, SQL/databases, and web applications.
• Hands-on experience with JIRA Core or JIRA Software, Crowd, and Confluence.
• At least 2 years of experience working on Linux systems.
• At least 2 years of experience working with AWS.
• Knowledge of both traditional and Agile software development methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills :

• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering, including team leadership.
• Experience with multiple Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and related tooling.
• Familiarity with git-based repositories like Bitbucket and GitHub.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services and modules.
• Certified Atlassian Data Center and Cloud products administrator (Jira preferred).
• Certified AWS Architect.
