As a Software Engineer Senior II, you will be responsible for:

• Designing, implementing, testing, and deploying new features for backend services
• Writing reliable, fast, and secure software components using the Rust programming language.
• Planning and leading roadmap initiatives which leverage modern cloud infrastructure.
• Reviewing architecture, designs, and software contributions for the engineering team.
• Collaborating with technical support staff to resolve issues and delight customers.
• Providing expertise and mentorship for other stakeholders across Akamai.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent.
• Demonstrate solid experience with backend services and relational databases such as Postgres.
• Be an expert with Rust or a similar modern, type-safe language.
• Maintain high quality standards with a pragmatic approach towards build and test automation.
• Discover and lead projects with material business impact.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver complex features.
