Senior Government Relations Manager Brazil

We are seeking a seasoned Government Relations Manager for Brazil, experienced in navigating complex regulatory landscapes and building sustainable relationships with regulators and key opinion leaders. This role involves representing and advancing inDrive’s interests with national and state authorities in Brazil.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with government officials, policymakers, regulatory agencies, and industry leaders in Brazil.
- Oversee licensing processes at the state level, ensuring compliance across various business verticals, including ride-hailing, couriers, intercity, and cargo.
- Create and execute a comprehensive national government relations strategy with clear objectives and action plans.
- Establish partnerships with policy stakeholders, trade associations, NGOs, and industry unions.
- Identify regulatory risks and opportunities, devising strategies to address them.
- Manage crises related to regulation and politics, implementing mitigation plans.
- Enhance inDrive’s visibility among policymakers, academia, and third-party stakeholders.
- Advocate for a supportive regulatory environment conducive to technological growth.
- Manage the government relations budget at the country level.
- Provide strategic advice to internal teams on policy and legislative matters affecting the business.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and address regulatory challenges proactively.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years in government relations, public policy, or related fields.
- At least 3 years in a multinational organization, either in-house or as a consultant.
- Degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, International Affairs, or related discipline.
- Proven success in public policy strategy and advocacy at national and regional levels.
- Fluent in Portuguese and English, with excellent communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building and policy implementation experience.
- Deep understanding of legislative and regulatory processes in highly regulated sectors.
- Experience in shaping regulatory frameworks and addressing complex legal issues.
- Experience in ride-hailing or tech sectors is a plus.
- Analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex issues and communicate effectively.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory topics into accessible language.
- Strategic thinker with strong ownership and accountability.
- Effective collaborator across functions and levels.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and resilient under pressure.
- Results-oriented with strong project management skills.
